Stained Glass Teaching:
I’m Berni B, stained glass artist, based in Mid Wales offering stained glass courses; private day workshops and stained glass retreats
You can book me for stained glass courses, private tuition, or demonstrations.
Running a guesthouse and working from home offers all sorts of flexibility. It means I can offer private day workshops and stained glass retreats for individuals and couples from my home, Cerdyn Villa.
I absolutely love teaching stained glass to people. I love doing it in my home, on a one or two to one basis and giving people my full attention. It’s a joy to enable them to achieve more that they feel they can. Nothing beats seeing the smiles on their faces when they go home with a finished article of their own design.
My studio is typical of that of an artist, its a bit disorganised, full to the brim and ready for the next spurt of creativity at the drop of a hat!
Berni is a fabulous person and artistic spirit, creative, generous, funny, easy going and just well… lovely, whether she’s all dressed up in pink or not! The house is also beautiful, welcoming and cosy, as are the gardens, peopled by gorgeous, chatty chickens. I’ve greatly enjoyed learning from and working with Berni in her stained glass workshops and look forward to more! – Deborah G

I have known Berni for many years, she has a great artistic ability, which she is happy to share with others. Her empathy and encouraging nature helps even the shy and unconfident to achieve their goals and has lead many workshops with amazing results. – Julia Harris – Artist
Private, tailored weekend retreats
“This was a wonderful weekend – two of us arrived as Glass Novices, and can’t believe how much we’ve learnt and that we’ve actually made our designs. Berni is a great teacher and so patient. And Cerdyn is a beautiful place to stay with fab breakfasts. Berni and Jon are lovely hosts (as are the hens). We hope to come back and improve our skills” – Rachel H Mar ’18

“Berni is a brilliant teacher! I was amazed at what I was able to accomplish in such a short time. She really gives you the confidence to throw yourself into your project whole-heartedly! And she makes terrific breakfasts with local produce too! I loved my weekend in Llanwrtyd.” – Joan H
Outsourced teaching

Currently I am running and delivering community classes alongside a second teacher, at Myddfai Community Hall, Carmarthenshire, for groups of 14-30 students at any one time. Individuals book a block of 5 sessions but can renew and stay for longer, and they often do. In the sessions people start from basics and learn how to copper foil and use lead… in this instance they can also get involved in making a 1.5m x 2.5m window for the hall!
I am available to offer a similar service to other community groups.
