Supporting S.O.B.S (Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide):
Last Spring I launched my guide book, My Life, My Death, My Wishes. Now, it’s never going to be a best seller, it has a limited market, but an important one; offering a guided hand holding service to individuals and families to help them think about and plan for a better end of life, good death and meaningful funeral. The book is written to empower, provide choice, facilitate conversation and gently guide its reader. (You can learn more and even by a copy here).
From launch until year end I put £1 per every copy bought directly from me/my website to a charity that truly touched my heart, S.O.B.S. I was fortunate enough to connect with S.O.B.S CEO, Josie Jakub and hand her one of the first copies. At the beginning of 2026, I sent them my donation thanks to those who invested in the guide.
As a funeral celebrant, I am often called upon to support families in grief as a result of death by suicide and it’s truly heart breaking, coming with a complex mix of emotions alongside the obvious grief a death brings.
S.O.B.S is a charity
providing a safe, confidential environment in which bereaved people can share their experiences and feelings, giving and gaining support from each other. They are the only organisation offering peer-to-peer support to all those over the age of 18, impacted by suicide loss in the UK.
