Art and Glass Stories

As an Artisan I might even be a bit late starting to think about Christmas… sorry

doves of peace, stained glass suncatchers, christmas decorations

The lovely Mrs A of Hooks and Dragons wrote a post this week called ‘Christmas is Coming’.  I nearly didn’t open it.  Indignantly chastising her to myself with the usual ‘its only bloody September’.  Fortunately I did open it and read it because she reminded me, and I’m now reminding you, that should you wish to buy unique , handmade gifts from talented local artisans then you, as a gift giver, need to think about that and contact your chosen artists/crafters asap.

If like me, you are one of those artists/crafters you really need to get your finger out and start making stock or advertising your made-to-order services because if people want things in time for Christmas I (you) need to liaise, price up, design, get approval, acquire supplies, make and ship those items to your lovely customer.

These customers will be those special people who have realised that there’s nothing quite like a gift that has been chosen and made especially for a specific friend or family member; ones who realise the importance of buying and supporting a sole-trading artisan; ones who realise that giving a handmade item in a design chosen by them is far more personal and thoughtful than anything that you can pick up off the shelf; someone who wants to give their unique and specifial friends and family members an equally unique and special gift to demonstrate exactly how important their ‘people’ are to them.

So here I am, as an artisan, reminding you of my services and advising you to book a slot in the 12 week window still available if you want something made for you.

Here are a few holiday season specific glass decorations in my portfolio followed by a few commissioned pieces I’ve made in the past .  Anything is possible.  am happy to quote without obligation.  Give me a call…

Check out my shop here on my blog

I also design and make panels and windows to order

So, if you would like a handmade stained glass gift for someone don’t delay, get in touch; and also don’t forget to check out Hooks and Dragons fantastic crochet gift ideas.  thanks for the heads up Mrs A xxx

  2. Your product is really beautiful Berni. And yes I can really see why you (and us too) need to start thinking of the Christmas purchases now if they are to be handmade. #thesatsesh
